I’ve always loved this park. I’ve been going for years to just walk around. Thankful there are times we can explore that we don’t have to pay. It’s great for finding shark teeth and the boardwalk is great too. There’s a bit of a walk to the beach but I think that’s part of the fun too. This is a fun place all year, not just for swimming. Only begins there isn’t a water area to rinse during the summer.
Great place to go swimming with the family. The beach has busy spots and quiet secluded areas along cliffs. The more secluded areas require some sure-footing so be sure to wear shoes that will allow for easy walking on slippery rocks. The waves are calm and not aggressive like the ocean. There are no life guards so swim at your own risk. The only major downfall to the place is the parking. There is not enough space on good days so get there early.
A quiet little beach with lots of shells and spectacular views! Short cliffs on one side and what seemed to be a boardwalk on the other. I was there in late October, so perhaps not ideal time for swimming, but nice to walk in the shallows and search for shells! Pictured is the small creek taken from the little bridge, behind me is the beach/water.
Very nice park. The single, paved trail is quite short which isn't a bad thing. The beach is nice if a little small. The boardwalk is well maintained. Only real downside are the admission fees & some restrictions (see photo). $8/ adult & $5/ child is ridiculous. That's $26 for a family of 4!
Out of the way location down from Chesapeake Beach. If you're patient, and don't mind getting dirty, you can comb this dog-friendly, tiny beach for hours for baby shark (doo doo doo doo doo doo) teeth. If you're not afraid of skin cancer or flesh eating bacteria, you can swim here, too. No thanks Tom Hanks, and after Memorial day there is almost no parking and they take your youngest child as payment for entry. JUST KIDDING..take your kids and LEAVE them here!!
Went around 6pm and it was nice out with not too many people. First time here and I loved it. Ive seen other people talk about fees but didnt encounter that when I came this past Sunday. So im happy about that!
Bayfront Beach. Brownies. Whatever you call it, this spot is a fossil hunter's dream. The Calvert Cliff formation is constantly eroding and Miocene Era fossils are being washed out and back up onto the beach. Guaranteed to find a variety of fossils, including multiple varieties of shark teeth- yes, also Megalodon. Stay safe and enjoy!
Great beach for find sharks teeth! Fairly short walk from parking to the beach just watch out for poison ivy along the paved path!
